It's not necessarily true that the newest version is the best or the one that will work for you, and to be quite honest you probably won't even see a difference between them. Its also worth noting that SMAA injector can be used without ENB as a standalone replacement for the games or drivers AA method. For users on mid to high-end machines, SMAA will be the best option. It could be that you hadn't set the game settings as I said above, it could also be worth trying an older d3d9.dll from Boris' website and try the wrapper method again. Users can also use SMAA injector with EdgeAA enabled to possibly gain an even better image quality. I use Midhrastic ENB on FO3 and it works okay with the wrapper, so did Skyrim. I've never personally had much luck with using injector versions of ENB's. When you are using the injector do you see any text in the top left of the game when you first launch it telling you about the ENB version you are using? If you do the ENB is running but not working correctly, if you see no text at all then the ENB isn't working. If you hadn't done that it might even have been the cause of the ctd when you tried to use the wrapper.
